About Markwick Terrace:
Markwick Terrace was designed by Decimus Burton who designed much of Kew Gardens and the important Glass Palm house at Kew. Decimus was also the son of James Burton who was probably the most significant builder of St Leonards on Sea and Georgian London, responsible for large areas of Bloomsbury, St Johns Wood, Clapham Common and collaborated with John Nash at Regent’s Park.
Markwick Gardens were formed primarily for the use and pleasure of the residents of Markwick Terrace, some of which was built in the 1860-70s. At that time, the land was owned by the Eversfield Trust and all householders had to pay a guinea a year subscription for the gardens.
Apartments of this stature rarely come to the rental market making this an exceptional opportunity to live in a phenomenal period home. Built in the most superior style with architectural and historical importance including period detailing with grand principal rooms and high ceilings throughout.
